ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Peter Laburn
Peter Laburn was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and educated at St Stithians College. He is an alumnus of UKZN, Wits Business School and INSEAD in France.
Pete’s early career was spent primarily in the consumer marketing environment, where he held multiple executive leadership roles. In 1991, he founded Peter Laburn International, facilitating strategic business change when the South African corporate world was grappling with how to transition politically and socially to a new South Africa. He has also worked for some of South Africa’s insurance giants and played a leading role in driving change in the industry. Pete was also a past President of the Insurance Institute of South Africa. To date, he has worked with over 100 clients in multiple industries across four continents.
In 1997, Pete integrated his love for the South African bush into his work with executive leadership teams and established the Lead with Humanity network, which has helped leaders from all walks of life connect to their purpose and live and lead with authenticity and humanity.
A former member of the Professional Speakers Association of South Africa, Pete has lectured extensively at local and international business schools and served on the boards of numerous companies, educational institutions and NGOs. His notable business career and humanity-driven leadership development work has culminated in the principles and insights presented here in his first book, Leading with Humanity.
